Mission Main Street Grants 2014 launches today

Message from Jennifer Piepszak, National Head of Sales for Business Banking

Do you have a favorite small business?  Are they innovators whose ideas solve problems?  Does having them in your community make it a better place to live?

Imagine what $150,000 could do to help them thrive.

Today we’re pleased to announce the kickoff of Mission Main Street Grants 2014. Together with Premier Sponsor Google, we are offering resources to help small businesses make it big.

Chase will award a share of $3 million to 20 small businesses across America chosen by a panel of experts.  In addition to the grant, Google will provide all 20 grant recipients with a laptop computer, a trip to Google Headquarters for an exclusive marketing workshop, and a $2,000 coupon toward one market research study with Google Consumer Survey.

Today through October 3, American small businesses that have been in business for at least two consecutive years and that have less than 100 year-round, full-time employees may apply.  Businesses must receive at least 250 votes to be eligible for a grant.  Full eligibility requirements are available at www.MissionMainStreetGrants.com/rules.

You can show your support by encouraging businesses to apply or voting for your favorite participating small businesses via Facebook (from your smart phone or personal computer) at www.MissionMainStreetGrants.com.  Voting is open from September 3 – October 17, 2014.

Here’s hoping our next Mission Main Street Grants recipients will be as impressive as our class of 2013, which included these smart and inspirational business owners:
.       Louisiana sisters who create fashionable head coverings for women undergoing treatment
.       A San Francisco business owner increasing health and wellness choices for the Latino community
.       A Long Island artisan who makes great pizza from his vintage red truck
